Solo travel can be so hard at times. But the real question is What have I learned by travelling alone?
First of all hello! It has been a while since I have posted a blog… from now on expect one once a week, every Sunday!
So today’s topic will cover my solo trip around Thailand! I am currently in Koh Samui getting ready to board my plane to meet my sister in Vietnam! So after today I will no longer be travelling alone, which I am so excited for!
I left on the 16th of January 2018 for my first solo trip ever! I was so nervous when I was leaving because I hate being alone with my thoughts, I like having someone there with me. So for me solo travel was a very daunting thing, and if I am going to be completely honest it still is!
I am going to blurt it out that I have not liked travelling alone! Yes I made friends and yes they were awesome, so technically I was not alone but it is nice to have that person from home who gets you, you know?
I did a tour with gecko adventures in the middle of my solo travel and that was really good! I never felt alone during that trip which was really comforting! I think the next time I travel alone I will need to do a tour again because you definitely are not alone in a tour group!
I just think I am not made to travel alone! I am not someone who can just go up to strangers and ask them their life story, that is just not me!
I do love meeting new people but I feel like you have the same conversation with them all the time. Where are you from? Where have you travelled? Where are you going? There is no connection, no getting to really know people, and if you do get to know someone it is usually just for a day or two and then you both go your seperate ways! I genuinely think that I have never felt more lonely in my life!
I think some people are made for it, some people like meeting strangers and talking about the same things over and over again! Some people like to be in charge of what they are doing and not have to change their plans because someone else does not want to do it. For me I like having someone else with me! I like to not feel alone and to sometimes not have to meet new people and have the same questions asked everyday!
Let me know if you are a solo traveller or whether you would rather go with other people?
